Mark likes George

Mark profiles the Bush brothers – and points out the media often confuses George with Neil.

If you survey the contrasting fortunes of the Bush brothers this week, you cannot help noticing that Neil Bush is the guy the media, the Democrats and the Europeans accuse George W Bush of being.

Lie-beral numbers

Mark breaks down the numbers for us in our wonderful one party state kleptocracy.  The question that prompted his column was “How did our PM become a multimillionaire working in the public service all those years?”

It?s certainly – how shall we put this? – striking that a fellow who?s spent 40 years in the House of Commons with the exception of a brief time-out in the late Eighties is, by Canadian standards, so phenomenally wealthy.

Hoy on the Liar

Clair Hoy has a good summary on the Lie-berals.

McGuinty and the Liberals are desperately trying to justify this shameful litany of broken promises by claiming they had no choice because the Tories left behind a $5.6-billion deficit.

Let’s be clear. That’s a lie. There is no current $5.6-billion deficit in Ontario.

It’s no wonder people don’t bother voting.

Secret trials

The Toronto Sun editorial today agrees with me…the Dawes Rd. murder case will be probably be tried in complete secrecy.  The only ones who will know about it will be those directly involved, plus the thousands who may know, via word of mouth, rumors, and innuendo.

Why exclude the public, then, from this know-ledge when the case comes to trial, given that justice must not only be done, but be seen to be done? By contrast, the YCJA sets up a regime where justice may never be seen to be done, even in a terrible case like this. It’s hard to imagine a more poorly conceived law.

Complete bull.

What’s the point?

In not naming names, victims or perps, one wonders – just who exactly needs to be protected here

Disturbing new details are emerging in the arrests of three teens charged in the beating and stabbing death of a 12-year-old and the beating of the boy’s 41-year-old stepfather.

Why must we. the public, have to resort to leaks to find out that maybe we, as a whole, are not actually in any danger, seeings how this is not stranger on stranger crime?

We are Americans

Thanks to reader Alan for pointing out the Bob MacDonald column today.  He refers to shoebomber Reid’s sentence, as written here on the Conservative Crust Blog.

Judge Young’s Ruling on “Shoe-Bomber” Richard Reid:

I am sure several of you have already read this. I hadn’t until this morning. It also merits a rereading, and it certainly speaks for itself:

It is truly stirring.

5 more to go

Mark writes that there are a few more countries to get to help finish off the war on terrorism.

The point is, any answer will do, as in the end they?ll all have to be whacked.

What’s new?

More confirmation that the gun registry is a useless sham, robbing taxpayers without a gun.

The federal government’s much-maligned gun registry has been slammed yet again, this time by a Fraser Institute study released yesterday that concludes the costly firearm control program is becoming an international “farce.”

Death Wish

Too bad for the intruder this guy wasn’t watching Peter Pan.

A man in north St. Louis County was home watching “Death Wish,” a movie about a vigilante who hunts down criminals, when he saw his wife held hostage by a robber holding shears at her neck.

On a serious note, it’s too bad Canadians don’t have a similar right to defend their own lives.

Real Leader Watch

GWB once more proved he is an amazing leader, at least as Commander in Chief.  He made a very dangerous flight to Baghdad Int’l – under the cover of darkness.

President Bush made a surprise Thanksgiving visit to American troops in Baghdad Thursday, flying secretly to violence-scarred Iraq to thank U.S. forces for serving there. It was the first trip ever by an American president to Iraq – a mission tense with concern about his safety.

Just for this he deserves to be re-elected.

Redwash

The Star has quite the apologist editorial today on how we need to wait a while before these little fibs all pan out.

Premier Dalton McGuinty and his new Liberal government are moving quickly to start repairing the widespread damage done to this province during eight years of Progressive Conservative rule at Queen’s Park.

More like wait a few years so everyone will forget the lies and not care by then.  Good lesson for our kids.

Kids aren’t all right

Here we go again – young offenders rounded up for murder.

Toronto police have captured two young offenders who were wanted in connection with the beating death of a 12-year-old boy at a home on Dawes Rd. last night.

Under the new YCJA, it’s hard to imagine – if they’re convicted – they’ll get more than a few years.

Protest the YCJA Act today!

Lie-berals

Fiberals is too kind.  Lie-berals is more accurate.

Yesterday’s government legislation to hike the price of power marks the latest in what critics say is a series of broken promises by the provincial Liberals. The list includes:

People don’t vote on promises, there vote for change.  I don’t think people really believe anything Liberals say.  They really just voted to get rid of Ernie, who was a waffler and a non-believer.  He could have promised free turkey dinners every Friday, and still lost.

Lie-berals have no intention of following through on any of their promises.  They know there is always a way to fudge and fiddle.  They know they will be elected, and play the sheeple for a song.  They know their electorate!
