How big’s yours?

An interesting post on family size … personally, my ideal # is 3 kids, wife willing.

It’s interestng to note that in the last 30 years, American attitudes about family size have changed, with most people now thinking 2 or 3 kids is the appropriate family size, whereas prior to the ‘70s most people thought 3-4 was ideal.

Sickening

It just doesn’t get any worse than this.

The remains of Cecilia Zhang was found by a hiker in a ravine near Toronto. The nine-year-old girl was taken from her family home last October 20, 2003.

It will be interesting if the police can crack this one.

Nealenews is back

Obviously, too many people like and use Nealenews for it to stay away.

Good News! We’re back and we want to thank you for all the wonderful emails of encouragement.

Adding a few ads will help too I’m sure to pay for the bandwidth.  Just make them popup so I can squish them.

Bush ducks lining up

Instapundit links that the dictators are lining up to comply – thanks to Bush.

SYRIA has appealed to Australia to use its close ties with Washington to help the Arab nation shake off its reputation as a terrorist haven and repair its relations with the US.

Pissing over the line

Well, maybe this guy did cross the line…strangely, the CRTC is rarely heard from these days like their cousin, the FCC on these matters.

Canadian radio station The Edge, 102.1 FM, has suspended radio show hosts Dean Blundell

One ton of s**t

Stupid Angry Canadian discusses the government’s latest waste of money.

Amazing. Hot on the heels of various revelations into the skill with which our government can waste money, we are being urged to fight climate change. I’m all for fighting climate change.

Firefox

Thought I’d let everyone know that I am trying out Firefox … and liking it.

IE6 domination has killed innovation.  Hopefully people trying and liking Firefox will change that.

Snake eyes

No one can accuse the US of handing out light sentences…corporate fraudsters beware!

That’s one big and painful lesson behind a jaw-dropping 24-year prison sentence for a former mid-level Dynegy Inc. executive convicted of helping craft a scheme to inflate the energy company’s cash flow.

Oh for real sentences in Canada.

PET – the cult of Multi’s founder

Every day we must deal with the horrible legacy PET imposed on Canada: today’s example is multiculturalism and “hate” crimes.  Blatchford explains.

Keeping warm the flame of old hatreds is effectively what the official Canadian policy of multiculturalism actively encourages newcomers to do; in the lingo of the Heritage Canada website, rife with smarmy talk of cultural diversity, defacing synagogues might even be termed “civic participation.”

God knows, the federal government in its endless propaganda incessantly reminds immigrants and refugees of their rights, rarely reminds them of their obligations to their new country, and preaches to Canadians that it is they, not the newcomers, who must adapt and that the onus of accommodation lies forever with them.

You’re kidding

Why doesn’t this surprise me?

A robbery gone wrong this week has left one man dead, as Toronto police investigate whether they can charge the store owner who fought back to protect his property.

We’ve got it all backward in Canada.

Recycled rubbish is just that

Adam Smith notes that recycling is, as I’ve said before, a waste of time and money.

…much recycling is ideological rubbish, a monumental waste of effort. And this is not just the view of free-market economists who see such “socialised systems of residual management” (rubbish collection to you and me) as market distortions

We should be incinerating our garbage, and generating useable energy.  All this while the city of Toronto wants to continue to harass its citizens and their garbage bags.

Geoff Rathbone, of the city’s solid waste department, said collection crews will “absolutely” be more vigilant in leaving garbage that can be recycled at the curb.

Capitulation

Is this a form of appeasement?

I have found the best way to give advice to your children is to find out what they want and then advise them to do it.
