Future of TV/media

Buzzmachine links to a post wondering about what the future of media will be like…interesting stuff.

: At Unmediated, Yatta has a wonderful post re-imagining TV in the age of blogs. Every medium could stand to re-imagine itself in the age of citizens’ media.

At the abortion march

This was heard at the Abortion Rights rally:

?I have to march because my mother could not have an abortion.?

Happy Malaria day

The do-gooders are killing children with their irrational propaganda campaign against DDT.  Apparently birds are more important than humans.

Malaria kills two million people a year and ravages economies. In Africa, a child dies of malaria every 30 seconds, and many who don’t die suffer brain damage.

Meanwhile, our government is busy with their own politically correct agenda over there:

Instead, we’re funding social workers to study gender issues in Kenyan villages, although how this will wipe out malaria is a bit unclear. We’re also promoting the use of insecticide-treated mosquito nets, which are all the rage these days with the malaria establishment. Nets are good. “But you can’t permanently surround people with nets,” points out Mr. Innis.

Pity the (poor) children.

Teach them the code word

In light of this latest attempted abduction in downtown Toronto,

On Monday April 26, 2004 at about 10:25a.m., an eight year old female student was in the schoolyard of Jesse Ketchum Public School located at 61 Davenport Road in Toronto. She was approached by an unknown man who asked her name. He then grabbed her by the arm.

it’s time to remind parents of a few kid safety techniques, including the code word.

Teach your child to scream as loudly as he/she can; “ Help, help, this is not my parent!” This will alert people in the area to come to your child’s assistance.

Eco-idiots

This story is just too foolish to pass on.  Who needs terrorists to send us to the Dark ages – we’ve got home grown eco-terrorists to battle.  Now they want your kids’ diapers:

“There is a way to have a baby and NOT use diapers,” says one website advocating diaperless babies. Parents are urged to get in tune with their infant’s body signals and hold babies over toilets, buckets and shrubbery or any other convenient receptacle when nature calls.

Interesting how are earthy-buddy Al Gore (who invented the internet, remeber him?) is on the board of the waterless urinal company.

Interesting linked site: Eco-Not

But Robert Bidinotto, publisher of ecoNOT.com and a critic of environmentalists, dismisses such notions as “primitive-worship.”

What the Star believes

The Star’s view of the scandal is probably typical of most left leaning Canadians (the majority of the population).  They feel if they don’t continuously bribe Quebecers and answer each extortion request with more tax dollars, then Quebec will leave.

Let’s hope the scandal serves as a warning to never allow a similar bribing campaign to happen again.

For us tapped out taxpayers, it’s time to call their bluff.  Talk to most Quebecers, and they’ll tell you that they will never leave.  They have it too good.

Peter wants his Fox TV

With the dishes down (so I hear), there is no Fox TV in Canada today.  Peter, like millions of others, wants that changed.

Well, I and others agree with Doyle—the sooner Fox News is allowed into Canada, the better—not just for the amusement of Canadians like John Doyle, but their intellectual edification.

Double Standard

This letter writer says that Al Quaeda has not reached the status of the ex-Nazis.  I wonder if they ever will in our PC culture?

I WOULD like to know why elderly Canadian citizens of Ukrainian origin can have their citizenship revoked for omitting to mention they were forced to work, as teenagers, in various capacities for the Nazis. I would also like to know why the same standard cannot applied to the Khadr family. Did they mention their affiliation with terrorist groups when they applied for citizenship?

Indians Inc.

I still don’t understand why we give the Indians opportunities we don’t give others.  Chattering classes’ historical guilt, perhaps?  It makes no sense.

500 million just the beginning

An article in the Star stating the money spent on Kyoto up to now is just the beginning.

The $500 million that the government has already wasted is only a taste of things to come unless Prime Minister Paul Martin walks away from Kyoto.

Canada has already spent or allocated $3.7 billion on climate change boondoggles of various sorts, and is planning to throw another $1 billion from the sale of Petrocan into the same pit of bad policy.

Go away Joe

I know everyone is entitled to his own opinions, but Joe, shut up already.  You are a loser – and a sore one at that.  Talk like this helps no one.  Please just out yourself once and for all and join the Liberals.  Traitor.

“I would be extremely worried about Mr. Harper. I personally would prefer to go with the devil we know.”

Clark, who is not seeking re-election, insisted he wasn’t endorsing the Liberal party.

Honor Killings

As the people of the third world wash up upon our North American shores to prop up our declining native populations, stories like this will become more prevalant.

A Turkish immigrant who is charged with killing his wife and critically injuring his two daughters in their Scottsville townhouse allegedly claimed he acted as a matter of honor.

This link defining honor killings doesn’t say honor killings are exclusive to Islam, but it appears they only occur in Muslim countries.  Yet another reason why we’d better drop our multiculturalism death wish and get back to the assimilation days when our country was great.
