May 23, 2004 – Two hours before the call, and the first time in twenty years I haven’t had anything to do with a national Liberal campaign (except in 1988, when I was a reporter at the Citizen, and I participated by writing about it). We’re celebrating my non-participation with a day at the factory outlets in Niagara Falls.
I’ll have plenty to say in the next 36 days. Suffice to say, at the start of this campaign, my view is this:

With their “unequivocal” scheming, they have managed to elevate a pesky local issue into a monumental demonstration of equal parts arrogance and incompetence.
No one can play both sides of the fence, achieving nothing, like the Liberals.
