Dump Carolyn
Surprise! There’s a bit of a campaign to get rid of the anti-American bigmouth. Her only positive trait is that she is honest, and the true face of the Liberal Party – which in itself is a sad commentary.
The vicious Canadian attack on the Bush administration arrived twofold. First came unabashed anti-American Liberal backbencher Carolyn Parrish, who said yesterday she was “dumbfounded” that Americans re-elected a “war-like man” on Tuesday. Parrish concluded the vote sending Bush back to the White House for a second term, must be a “reflection of the profound psychological damage of 9/11,” reports said.

Good to see
I’m grateful that the PM and the leader of the loyal opposition have spoken up against the Bloc-head who didn’t want to give flags to veterans. Only in Canada would we even allow a separatist party to exist in our Parliament.
OUTRAGED CANADIANS—including the prime minister—are flooding a small Quebec Legion hall with support and offers of flags after the town’s separatist MP refused to provide the veterans with a flag. Calling the Bloc Quebecois snub “beyond belief,” Paul Martin made a personal call to the legion yesterday.

The graph below shows that between 1970 and 2003, gross domestic product increased 176 percent, vehicle miles traveled increased 155 percent, energy consumption increased 45 percent, and U.S. population grew by 39 percent. During the same time period, total emissions of the six principal air pollutants dropped by 51 percent.
The President’s day

I think you all are aware, last night he went to sleep around 5:00 a.m. He woke up around 7:00 a.m., and he arrived in the Oval Office this morning at 8:00 a.m. Former President Bush was with him this morning. I know Dan Bartlett stuck his head in there shortly after that to visit with the President.

Six months after gay and lesbian couples won the right to marry in Massachusetts, opponents of same-sex marriage struck back Tuesday, with voters in 11 states approving constitutional amendments codifying marriage as an exclusively heterosexual institution.

At about the time our original 13 states adopted their new constitution, in the year 1787, Alexander Tyler (a Scottish history professor at The University of Edinborough) had this to say about “The Fall of The Athenian Republic” some 2,000 years prior.
“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”
“The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the most recent Presidential election:
Population of counties won by: Gore=127 million; Bush=143 million
Square miles of land won by:Gore=580,000; Bush=2,2427,000
States won by:Gore=19; Bush=29
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Gore=13.2; Bush=2.1
Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the tax-paying citizens of this great country. Gore’s territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off government welfare…”
Olson believes the U.S. is now somewhere between the “complacency and “apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy; with some 40 percent of the nation’s population already having reached the “governmental dependency”phase.
Apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.
